3.COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP THE BLACK MOUNTAIN ROTARY CLUB FOUNDATION ANNUALLY PROVIDE SCHOLARSHIPS TO DESERVING STUDENTS AT WARREN WILSON HIGH SCHOOL AND THE COMMUNITY HIGH SCHOOL WHO ARE HEADED TO COLLEGE. ONCE ACCEPTED AND REGISTERED FOR FALL CLASSES THE COLLEGE OR UNIVERSITY OF THE STUDENTS CHOICE NOTIFIES THE CLUB OF THE STUDENTS ENROLLMENT. A CHECK IS THEN MAILED TO THAT UNIVERSITY OR COLLEGE.4. SUPPORT OF LOCAL ELHI WITH BACKPACKS FILLED WITH SCHOOL SUPPLIES5. FUNDING LOCAL HEADSTART CHILD CARE CENTERS NEW FACILITY6. INTERNATIONAL STUDENT EXCHANGE PROGRAM


1.GUATEMALA - WORKING IN CONJUNCTION WITH SAFE PASSAGE, A US REGISTERED 501 (C) (3) ORGANIZATION, IN THEIR EFFORTS TO IMPLEMENT EXPEDITIONARY LEARNING IN THE COMMUNITY OF THE GUATEMALA CITY GARBAGE DUMP THE BLACK MOUNTAIN ROTARY CLUB IS DEVELOPING AND IMPLEMENTING A INTERCHANGE OF TEACHERS FROM THE SAFE PASSAGE SCHOOL IN GUATEMALA WITH TWO DIFFERENT SCHOOLS IN BUNCOMBE COUNTY, OVER A TWO YEAR PERIOD. THIS WILL INVOLVE THE TRAVEL OF TEACHERS TO VISIT EACH OTHERS SITE AND TO SET UP AN ELECTRONIC CLASSROOM, WHERE STUDENTS WILL PARTICIPATE IN LEARNING ABOUT EACH OTHER, AND SPECIFIC COURSES. 2.DOLLY PARTON IMAGINATION LIBRARY IN AN EFFORT TO PROMOTE EMERGENT LITERACY SKILLS THE BLACK MOUNTAIN ROTARY HAS PARTNERED WITH THE DOLLYWOOD FOUNDATION TO PROVIDE AGE-APPROPRIATE BOOKS TO REGISTERED CHILDREN BIRTH TO AGE FIVE MONTHLY IN ZIP CODES 28711 AND 28778.
