THE RAISE WAGES NOW PROJECT WAS A FISCALLY SPONSORED PROJECT OF WORKING WA. RWN PERFORMED RESEARCH AND DESIGN WORK AROUND A POTENTIAL NATIONAL MEMBERSHIP ORGANIZATION OFFERING BOTH ADVOCACY TOOLS AND FINANCIAL HEALTH PRODUCTS, DEDICATED TO BUILDING A MORE FINANCIALLY SECURE FUTURE FOR WORKERS AND THEIR FAMILIES. THE PROJECT AND WORKING WAS FISCAL SPONSORSHIP ENDED IN 2021.
PAYUP IS A CAMPGAIGN TO RAISE PAY AND STANDARDS FOR GIG DELIVERY DRIVERS IN SEATTLE AND WASHINGTON STATE. IN 2021, WE LED THE EFFORT TO WIN THE FIRST PAY STANDARD IN THE COUNTRY FOR GIG DELIVERY DRIVERS IN THE CITY OF SEATTLE.
THROUGH OUR WORKER ORGANIZING, ADVOCACY, GRASSROOTS LOBBYING EFFORTS, AND OUR COALITION WORK, WE HELPED WIN NEW RIGHTS AND STANDARDS FOR WORKERS IN THE 2021 LEGISLATIVE SESSION IN WA, INCLUDING OVERTIME PAY FOR AGRICULTURAL WORKERS, NEW TOOLS TO HELP HOLD EMPLOYERS ACCOUNTABLE TO PAYING THEIR WORKERS, ADDITIONAL FUNDING FOR IMMIGRANT WORKERS RELIEF FUND, AND A NEW CAPITAL GAINS TAX, TO NAME A FEW. IN SEATTLE, WE ARE ORGANIZING WITH OUR NANNY COLLECTIVE TO IMPLEMENT A PORTABLE BENEFITS PROGRAM FOR DOMESTIC WORKERS IN THE CITY OF SEATTLE, BUILDING OFF THE DOMESTIC WORKER BILL OF RIGHTS WE HELPED GET PASSED.
