DONATED ORTHODONTIC SERVICES (DOS) IS A PROGRAM OF THE AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF ORTHODONTISTS (AAOF) THAT SERVES AS THE CONNECTION FOR ORTHODONTIC TREATMENT BETWEEN CHILDREN WHO LACK ACCESS TO CARE BECAUSE OF FINANCIAL HARDSHIP TO AAO MEMBER ORTHODONTISTS WHO VOLUNTEER THEIR TIME AND RESOURCES TO PROVIDE TREATMENT. THIS PROGRAM WILL BE REBRANDED AS GIFTED SMILES IN 2024. THE PROGRAM REMAINS TRUE TO ITS CORE OF OFFERING ACCESS TO INDIVIDUALIZED ORTHODONTIC INTERVENTION THROUGH A NETWORK OF AAO VOLUNTEER PROVIDERS TO CHILDREN WHOSE FAMILIES QUALIFY.
DISASTER RELIEF: AAO MEMBERS WHO ARE IMPACTED BY A NATURAL DISASTER MAY APPLY TO THE AAO FOUNDATION DISASTER RELIEF FUND FOR A GRANT (UP TO $5,000) TO ASSIST THEM IN RESTORING THEIR PRACTICE INCLUDING REPAIR OF A FACILITY OWNED BY THE APPLICANT OR EQUIPMENT AND SUPPLIES.
