EMERGENCY SOLUTION GRANT FEDERAL STIMULUS DOLLARS THROUGH THE DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES ARE MADE AVAILABLE TO COUNTY COMMISSIONS IN MISSOURI TO PROVIDE HOMELESS PREVENTION AND HOUSING SERVICES. THE COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP OF SOUTHEAST MISSOURI IS THE PROVIDER OF THESE SERVICES ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU.
EMPOWERING DADS TO GAIN EMPLOYMENT COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP OF SOUTHEAST MISSOURI, A MISSOURI COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP, IN COLLABERATION WITH THE MISSOURI FAMILY SUPPORT DIVISION, WILL IMPLEMENT THE EMPOWERING DADS TO GAIN EMPLOYMENT PROJECT IN A SIX COUNTY AREA. THE PROJECT WILL SERVE PRIMARILY FATHERS THAT MAY HAVE CHILD SUPPORT CASES, MAY NOT BE MAKING CHILD SUPPORT PAYMENTS, MAY HAVE CRIMINAL RECORDS, AND POTENTIALLY FACE A HOST OF BARRIERS WHEN TRYING TO OBTAIN EMPLOYMENT.
MISSOURI HOUSING TRUST FUND GRANT FUNDS ARE MADE AVAILABLE TO PROVIDE FOR RENTAL DEPOSIT ASSISTANCE FOR INDIVIDUALS WHO MEET INCOME GUIDELINES.
THE COUNCIL MANAGES A COMMUNITY IMPACT PLAN BY PROVIDING STAFF SUPPORT TO SEVERAL PRIORITY ISSUE COUNCILS, AMONG THEM BEING PRIMARY HEALTH CARE, ORAL HEALTH CARE, MENTAL HEALTH, TEEN PREGNANCY PREVENTION, PARENTING AND CHILD CARE, SAFE AND AFFORDABLE HOUSING, AND CHILD ABUSE PREVENTION. THE COUNCIL HAS A DENTAL SPECIALIST ON STAFF TO PROVIDE FLOURIDE VARNISH TREATMENTS IN PRE-SCHOOL AND ELEMENTARY SCHOOL SETTING. ALSO ADMINISTERS AN ASSET DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM IN THE COUNTY THAT IS FOCUSED ON MAKING A BETTER ENVIRONMENT FOR YOUTH.
