Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
PATIENT CARE: UNIVERSITY HEALTH PHYSICIANS (UHP) IS A MULTI-SPECIALTY ACADEMIC GROUP PRACTICE WITH OVER 290 PHYSICIANS PROVIDING PATIENT CARE AT TRUMAN MEDICAL CENTER (TMC) AND OTHER KANSAS CITY AREA FACILITIES. OUR PHYSICIANS ARE DEDICATED TO PROVIDING THE HIGHEST QUALITY OF PATIENT CARE TO ALL PATIENTS, INCLUDING LOW-INCOME, THE UNINSURED AND VULNERABLE POPULATIONS. THIS FISCAL YEAR, OVER 55.75% OF UHP'S PATIENT CARE VOLUME WAS TO EITHER UNINSURED PATIENTS (REGARDLESS OF THEIR ABILITY TO PAY) OR PATIENTS ENROLLED IN MISSOURI MEDICAID.
INSTITUTIONAL REVENUE: AS TEACHING FACULTY FOR THE UNIVERSITY OF MISSOURI-KANSAS CITY SCHOOL OF MEDICINE (UMKC SOM), UHP PHYSICIANS ARE DIRECTLY INVOLVED IN MEDICAL STUDENT EDUCATION AND POST-GRADUATE RESIDENT AND FELLOWSHIP TRAINING.
