MERCY CANCER CENTER - JOPLIN IS HOME TO THE LATEST IN CANCER TECHNOLOGY AND TREATMENTS, INCLUDING DAVINCI ROBOTIC ASSISTED SURGERY. ELEKTA VERSA HD, THE MOST ADVANCED LINEAR ACCELERATOR IN THE REGION OFFERING IMRT STEREOTACTIC RADIATION TREATMENT AND 3D RADIOTHERAPY, PET/CT SCANS, PROSTATE CANCER TREATMENT WITH SPACEOAR HYDROGEL AND THE REGION'S ONLY AUTOMATED BREAST ULTRASOUND (ABUS). MERCY'S BREAST CENTER IS ALSO PROUD TO HAVE BEEN NAMED A BREAST IMAGING CENTER OF EXCELLENCE (BICOE) BY THE AMERICAN COLLEGE OF RADIOLOGY (ACR). IN ADDITION, MERCY ONCOLOGY INFUSION - JOPLIN PROVIDES COMPREHENSIVE CHEMOTHERAPY SERVICES IN A FACILITY THAT EMPHASIZES COMFORT. MERCY'S NURSES ARE SPECIALLY TRAINED AND LICENSED IN ONCOLOGY EDUCATION, WHICH MUST BE RENEWED EVERY TWO YEARS. MANY ARE ALSO OCN - (ONCOLOGY CERTIFIED NURSE) QUALIFIED. AS A CERTIFIED LEVEL II TRAUMA CENTER, THE EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT AT MERCY HOSPITAL JOPLIN IS PREPARED TO CARE FOR PATIENTS SUFFERING A HEART ATTACK, STROKE OR PHYSICIAL TRAUMA. MERCY HOSPITAL JOPLIN HAS THE MOST ADVANCED EQUIPMENT CURRENTLY AVAILABLE TO PROVIDE EMERGENCY CARE FOR ALL AGES AND MEDICAL NEEDS.
