Part 3
NEW JERSEY HOUSE RABBIT SOCIETY IS VERY PROUD OF OUR LOW-COST RABBIT SPAY/NEUTER CERTIFICATE PROGRAM FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE GENERAL PUBLIC - THE ONLY ONE OF ITS KIND IN NEW JERSEY. BY PARTNERING WITH VETERINARIANS, WE PROVIDE THE PUBLIC WITH A MEANS OF HAVING THEIR COMPANION RABBIT SPAYED OR NEUTERED AT A REDUCED COST. RABBITS ARE RELINQUISHED TO ANIMAL SHELTERS FOR A VARIETY OF REASONS - CHIEF AMONG THEM ARE BEHAVIOR ISSUES AND UNWANTED LITTERS, BOTH OF WHICH CAN BE ADDRESSED BY SPAYING FOR NEUTERING. IN ORDER TO HELP KEEP RABBITS WITH THEIR FAMILIES, PREVENT BIRTHS AND ENHANCE THE HEALTH AND LONGEVITY OF COMPANION RABBITS, NEW JERSEY HOUSE RABBIT SOCIETY INITIATED OUR REDUCED COST SPAY/NEUTER PROGRAM. WE CONTINUE TO BE THE ONLY SUCH PROGRAM IN NEW JERSEY. ONLY TWO VETERINARIANS, NOT IN OUR PROGRAM, OFFER LOW COST SPAY/NEUTER SERVICES IN NEW JERSEY, SO THE NEED FOR OUR SERVICE IS GREAT. ADDITIONALLY, WE HAVE A PROGRAM, MINDY'S FUND, WHERE WE HELP INDIVIDUALS IN NEED WITH VETERINARY BILLS FOR THEIR RABBITS AND PART OF OUR PROGRAM EXPENSES ARE ALLOCATED TO THIS.
