TO SERVE THE NEEDS OF YOUNG PEOPLE IN CRISIS. THE AGENCY OPERATES FACILITIES PROVIDING SHORT-TERM SHELTER FOR CHILDREN AND TEENAGERS FACING EMERGENCIES IN THEIR LIVES, AND PROVIDES COUNSELING SERVICES TO CHILDREN, TEENAGERS, AND THEIR FAMILIES.

THE AGENCY OPERATES AN EMERGENCY YOUTH SHELTER WHICH PROVIDES EMERGENCY, SHORT-TERM CARE FOR YOUTH NEEDING PLACEMENT OUTSIDE OF THE HOME. REASONS FOR PLACEMENT MIGHT INCLUDE MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES, HOMELESSNESS, HEALTH AND SAFETY HAS BEEN COMPROMISED, RUNAWAY BEHAVIOR, ETC. THE SHELTER IS LICENSED BY THE IOWA DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICES.
THE AGENCY OPERATES DAY TREATMENT PROGRAMS FOR ADOLESCENT MALES AND FEMALES BETWEEN THE AGES OF 12-18 WHO HAVE BEEN ORDERED OR REFERRED EITHER THROUGH JUVENILE COURT SERVICES OR DHS. THE GIRLS' PROGRAM CONSISTS OF AN ACADEMIC PROGRAM AND SKILL-BUILDING SESSIONS BASED ON PROBLEMS IN BEHAVIORS. THE BOYS' PROGRAM ENCOURAGES EACH CLIENT TO BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR HIS OWN BEHAVIORS. SERVICES INCLUDE ON SITE EDUCATION, GROUP, INDIVIDUAL, AND ADDITIONAL THERAPY, COMMUNITY SERVICE GROUPS ON FAMILY ISSUES, AND SUBSTANCE ABUSE,AFTERCARE, AND TRANSPORTATION TO FROM THE PROGRAM.
