FOR OVER 70 YEARS VERA FRENCH STAFF HAVE BEEN COMMITTED MEETING COMMUNITY NEEDS THROUGH PROVIDING THE FOLLOWING SERVICES: OUTPATIENT PRESCRIBER AND INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING, RESIDENTIAL CARE AND HABILITATION HOMES, COMMUNITY BASED TREATMENT AND OUTREACH.

OUTPATIENT PRESCRIBER & INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING: THE MEDICAL TEAM INCLUDES PSYCHIATRISTS, PSYCHIATRIC-CERTIFIED NURSE PRACTITIONERS AND REGISTERED NURSES WHO ELEVATE AND OVERSEE MEDICAL CARE WHERE WARRANTED TO ASSIST IN THE TREATMENT OF CLIENTS. SINCE 2020 AND UNDER THE CARE OF A PSYCHIATRIST, VERA FRENCH ALSO OFFERS TRANSCRANIAL MAGNETIC STIMULATION (TMS) TO TARGET KEY AREAS OF THE BRAIN THAT ARE UNDERACTIVE IN PEOPLE WITH MAJOR & DRUG RESISTANT DEPRESSION. LICENSED THERAPISTS WORKING WITH INDIVIDUALS TO HELP THEM DEVELOP COPING SKILLS AND IMPROVED FUNCTIONING IN DAY-TO-DAY LIFE. WHILE ONGOING SESSIONS ARE DONE BY APPOINTMENT, CURRENTLY NO APPOINTMENT IS NEEDED FOR INITIAL MENTAL HEALTH EVALUATIONS THROUGH THE SAME DAY ACCESS HOURS. AS ALLOWED BY LAW, VERA FRENCH ALSO OFFERS TELE-MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES BY TELEPHONE OR OVER APPROPRIATE VIDEO CONFERENCING PLATFORMS.
RESIDENTIAL CARE & HABILITATION HOMES: THIS DIVISION PROVIDES 24-HOUR CARE AND TREATMENT FOR ADULTS WHO HAVE A SEVERE AND PERSISTENT MENTAL ILLNESS. THE GOAL OF THIS LEVEL OF CARE IS TO HELP RESIDENTS ATTAIN OR MAINTAIN THEIR OPTIMAL LEVEL OF FUNCTIONING SO THEY CAN LIVE AND PROSPER AS INDEPENDENTLY AS POSSIBLE. BEYOND FACILITIES OFFERING ROUND THE CLOCK CARE TO RESIDENTS, VERA FRENCH MAINTAINS SEVERAL OTHER HOUSING UNITS THROUGHOUT THE COMMUNITY. ALL THESE UNITS OFFER SAFE, CLEAN, AND AFFORDABLE HOUSING WITH A LEVEL OF MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES APPROPRIATE TO THE SPECIFIC NEEDS OF THE INDIVIDUAL RESIDENTS OR TENANTS.
COMMUNITY BASED TREATMENT & OUTREACH: THIS DIVISION IS HEADQUARTERED AT THE CAROL CENTER. THE CAROL CENTER IS DESIGNED TO PROVIDE A SAFE AND SUPPORTIVE PLACE FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH MENTAL ILLNESS TO ENGAGE IN EDUCATIONAL AND RECREATIONAL GROUP SERVICES. CAROL CENTER SERVICES INCLUDE OUTREACH MEDICATION MANAGEMENT, HOMELESS OUTREACH, ASSERTIVE COMMUNITY TREATMENT (ACT), PEER SUPPORT DROP-IN SERVICE, AND OTHER EVIDENCE-BASED INTERVENTION STRATEGIES TO ASSIST IN HELPING PEOPLE RECOVER FROM MENTAL ILLNESS. BEYOND THE CAROL CENTER SERVICES, THIS DIVISION ALSO INCLUDES THE INTEGRATED HEALTH HOMES (IHH) PROGRAM AND SUPPORTED COMMUNITY LIVING (SCL). IHH OFFERS A TEAM OF PROFESSIONALS TO ASSIST ON BEHALF OF AN INDIVIDUAL'S PHYSICAL AND MENTAL HEALTH. SCL OFFERS HOURLY SERVICES THAT PROMOTE INDEPENDENCE AND MAXIMIZE AN INDIVIDUAL'S ABILITY TO FUNCTION IN THE COMMUNITY.
