COMMUNITY IMPACT - THE PROCESS BY WHICH COMMUNITY-WIDE VOLUNTEERS DONATE MORE THAN 200 HOURS OF VOLUNTEER TIME TO DISTRIBUTE THE FUNDS OF THE UNITED WAY COMMUNITY SOLUTIONS FUND TO THE MOST CRITICAL HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICE NEEDS THROUGHOUT THE EIGHT COUNTY REGION. THIS IS DONE BY REVIEW OF THE PARTNER AGENCIES' APPLICATIONS FOR FUNDING, VISITS TO THE AGENCY SITES, AND THOROUGH REVIEWS OF THEIR FINANCIAL INFORMATION AND BUDGETS. THE DISTRIBUTION OF THE FUNDS IS CATEGORIZED UNDER THE FOLLOWING FOUR FOCUS AREAS: COMMUNITY BASICS, INVESTING IN CHILDREN AND YOUTH, PREVENTION AND REDUCTION OF SUBSTANCE ABUSE, AND MAXIMIZING INDEPENDENCE.
COMMUNICATION & MARKETING - INCLUDES THE ORGANIZATION'S CONTINUOUS INVOLVEMENT IN THE COMMUNITY IN ORDER TO INCREASE STAKEHOLDER KNOWLEDGE OF THE UNITED WAY AND ITS ACTIVITIES, AND TO KEEP THE ORGANIZATION CONNECTED WITH THE ACTIVITIES WHICH THEY INTEND TO FOCUS ON.
