MISSISSIPPI'S LOWER DELTA PARTNERSHIP (LDP) IS ENGAGED IN PROMOTING NATURE AND HERITAGE TOURISM IN AREA. LDP PROVIDES NUMEROUS EFFORTS TO HELP IMPROVE AND SUPPORT MISSISSIPPI'S SOUTH DELTA AND ITS RESIDENTS. IT CONDUCTED A DEMAND STUDY FOCUSED ON ASSESSING THE NEEDS OF THE ROLLING FORK COMMUNITY FOR BOTH RESIDENTS AND VISITORS, AND THE RESULTS OF THIS STUDY WERE SHARED WITH THE CITY AND COUNTY BOARDS. LDP HOST LECTURES PROMOTING THE NATURE, HISTORY AND CULTURE OF MISSISSIPPI'S SOUTH DELTA. LDP HAS HELPED TO REHABILITATE THE FASCADE OF THE ROLLING FORK VISITOR'S CENTER AND MUSEUM. IT WORKS WITH LOCAL PARTNERS TO DEVELOP A BROCHURE HIGHLIGHTING LOCAL FACILITIES, TELLING THE THEODORE ROOSEVELT TEDDY BEAR STORY AND MAPPING A TOUR OF THE CHAIN SAW CARVED BEARS. LDP HOST A YOUTH FISHING RODEO IN THE DELTA NATIONAL FOREST THAT GIVES DISADVANTAGED CHILDREN THE OPPORTUNITY TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS SPORT AS WELL AS PROMOTES ONE OF OUR GREAT NATURAL RESOURCES. LDP HOST THE GREAT DELTA BEAR AFFAIR FESTIVAL IN DOWNTOWN ROLLING FORK.
