THE CENTER IS A COLLABORATIVE EFFORT THAT STRIVES TO PROVIDE LOCAL CHILDREN AND THEIR FAMILIES WITH SUPPORT THEY NEED TO FUNCTION AS A STRONG AND HEALTHY FAMILY UNIT. OUR VISION IS THAT ALL FAMILIES WILL HAVE WHAT THEY NEED TO REACH THEIR FULL POTENTIAL AND CONTRIBUTE TO THEIR COMMUNITY. WE ARE COMMUNITY BASED AND SEEK TO MEET THE CHANGING NEEDS OF FAMILIES AND CHILDREN AS THEY ARISE, AS WELL AS TO BUILD UPON THE STRENGTHS THAT ARE ALREADY PRESENT WITHIN THE COMMUNITY. DURING THE YEARS THE FAMILY CENTER HAS BEEN OPEN, IT HAS BECOME A HUB OF ACTIVITY AND HAS BEEN PROVEN TO BE AN EFFECTIVE WAY TO OFFER SERVICES AND PROGRAMMING TAILORED TO THE COMMUNITY. WE ALSO FUNCTION AS THE COMMUNITY FOOD SHELF IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE FOOD SHELVES NATIONWIDE.

MAJOR SERVICES PROVIDED INCLUDE; FAMILY CENTER HOME VISITING TO ENGAGE WITH AT-RISK FIRST TIME PRENATAL MOTHERS THROUGH THEIR CHILD'S THIRD BIRTHDAY WITH WEEKLY VISITS, CURRICULUM, AND SUPPORT, WORKING TOGETHER TO BUILD A SECURE FOUNDATION FOR BABIES AND THEIR FAMILY; FAMILY SUPPORT THROUGH AVAILABLE RESOURCES IN SUPPORT OF FAMILIES WHEN NO OTHER AGENCY OR SERVICE IS AVAILABLE TO MEET BASIC NEEDS, PROVIDING FOR ASSISTANCE APPLICATIONS FOR COUNTY SERVICES, FAXING, COMPUTER, AND TELEPHONE AVAILABILITY; WORKING TOGETHER COALITION TO PROVIDE LEADERSHIP AND INFRASTRUCTURE TO PREVENT SUBSTANCE ABUSE THROUGH COMMUNITY LEVEL AWARENESS. PINE RIVER AREA FOOD SHELF COORDINATES EMERGENCY FOOD PROGRAMS IN THE CITIES OF PINE RIVER AND BACKUS AND EIGHTEEN AREA TOWNSHIPS; CHRISTMAS FOR KIDS RAISES FUNDS AND DISTRIBUTES GIFTS TO CHILDREN IN NEED; PARENT EDUCATION PROVIDES LOVE & LOGIC PARENTING CLASSES IN COLLABORATION WITH THE PINE RIVER SCHOOL DISTRICT; AND PROVIDES OFFICE SPACE, MEETING ROOMS, AND CLINIC AREAS FOR CASS COUNTY PUBLIC HEALTH WIC CLINICS, FAMILY PLANNING CLINICS, MONTHLY CHILD AND TEEN OUTREACH CLINICS, MINNESOTA WORKFORCE CENTER CEP PROGRAM OFFICE SPACE.
