THE PURPOSE OF THE SOUTH ST. PAUL EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION IS TO INVEST IN THE EDUCATION OF PRESENT AND FUTURE GENERATIONS OF SOUTH ST. PAUL SCHOOL DISTRICT STUDENTS BY PROVIDING SCHOLARSHIPS AND SUPPLEMENTAL CLASSROOM PROGRAM FUNDING.

THE SOUTH ST. PAUL EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION (SSPEF) HAS PROVIDED FUNDING FOR THE FOLLOWING DURING THE FISCAL YEAR 2021-2022. ON MAY 11TH THE SSPEF AWARDED SCHOLARSHIPS TOTALING 466,500 TO 133 SOUTH ST. PAUL GRADUATING SENIORS. 100% OF THE STUDENTS WHO APPLIED FOR A SCHOLARSHIP RECEIVED ONE. THESE SCHOLARSHIPS COVERED A WIDE RANGE OF DOLLAR AMOUNTS AND WERE GIVEN TO STUDENTS ATTENDING 4-YEAR, 2 YEAR AND TECHNICAL VOCATIONAL SCHOOLS. SSPEF ALSO PROVIDED PROGRAM FUNDING FOR CLASSROOM ENRICHMENT TOTALING 71,613. THESE PROGRAMS INCLUDED FUNDING FOR A DISTRICT-WIDE GUIDED READING LIBRARY, BOOKS, AN INTERACTIVE STORY WALL, SENSORY PATH, COMPUTER CODING PROGRAM SUBSCRIPTION, AND INTERACTIVE ENGINEERING SETS. THE FOUNDATION ALSO GRANTED FUNDS FOR SPECIAL EDUCATION INCLUDING WEIGHTED BLANKETS AND A SUPPLEMENTARY MATH CURRICULUM TO ASSIST STUDENTS WITH AUTISM. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO FUNDED ALL THE INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE FEES TO SUPPORT THE ENTIRE SOUTH ST. PAUL PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT. THE FOUNDATION'S ANNUAL WALKATHON WAS HELD IN SEPTEMBER WITH STUDENTS, STAFF, AND FAMILIES IN THE COMMUNITY PARTICIPATING. THE WALKATHON FUNDS PROJECTS AND ACTIVITIES IN TEACHER'S CLASSROOMS. THESE MONIES ARE CRITICAL IN PROVIDING ENHANCED OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE STUDENTS OF SOUTH ST. PAUL.
