THE PURPOSE OF THE WILDER MUSEUM IS TO OPERATE AN EDUCATIONAL MUSEUM AND TO PROVIDE TO THE PUBLIC AT A NOMINAL CHARGE INFORMATION CONCERNING THE LIFE OF AUTHOR LAURA INGALLS WILDER AND THE PIONEER CITIZENS OF WALNUT GROVE. THE LIFE STORY OF LAURA INGALLS WILDER AND EARLY RESIDENTS OF THE AREA ARE DEPICTED THROUGH VARIOUS EXHIBITS, COLLECTIONS OF PICTURES, AND ARTIFACTS ON PUBLIC DISPLAY IN THE MUSEUM. GENERAL TOURIST INFORMATION IS ALSO PROVIDED FOR VISITORS.
