Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
THE ORGANIZATION PUBLISHES NORTHERN GARDENER, THE ONLY MAGAZINE CONTAINING INFORMATION WRITTEN ESPECIALLY FOR COLD CLIMATE GARDENERS, SIX TIMES PER YEAR. OVER 14,000 SUBSCRIBERS.
EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS CONSIST OF CONDUCTING NORTHERN GARDENER CLASSES, PROVIDING THE MINNESOTAN GREEN PROGRAM WHICH PROVIDES DONATED PLANT MATERIALS TO THE COMMUNITY GARDEN LOCATIONS. GARDEN-IN-A-BOX PROVIDES FREE OR AT A REDUCED COST A 3X3 CEDAR BOX, PLANT MATERIAL, SOIL AND A FREE CLASS TO LOW-INCOME FAMILIES.
MEMBERSHIP SERVICES PROVIDES MEMBERS WITH TWO FREE TICKETS TO THE MINNESOTA HOME AND PATIO SHOW AND THE MINNEAPOLIS HOME AND GARDEN SHOW. DISCOUNTS AT OVER 130 GARDEN CENTERS AND NURSERIES, DISCOUNTS IN THE NORTHERN GARDENER BOOKSTORE, EDUCATIONAL CLASSES AND TOURS, SIX ISSUES OF THE MAGAZINE NORTHERN GARDENER, LENDING PRIVILEGES IN THE LIBRARY.
