NEWSLETTER GOES OUT TWICE A YEAR TO OVER 5,700 RECIPIENTS ACROSS THE COUNTRY. IT PROVIDES EDUCATIONAL ARTICLES AS WELL AS UPDATES AND UPCOMING EVENTS. TIME NEEDED TO CONSTRUCT THE NEWSLETTER FROM CONTENT GATHERING TO PRINTING IS ABOUT A MONTH.
OTHER PROGRAM SERVICE ACTIVITIES RELATED TO THE MISSION THE LISTENING POINT FOUNDATION
YARD INVASIVES PROJECT: THE YARD IS BEING RELANDSCAPED SINCE MANY PLANTS HISTORICALLY PLACED IN THE SPACE WERE INVASIVE.THE FRONT GARDENS WILL BE MORE FORMAL WHILE THE BACK WILL SERVE AS A PICNIC AREA. THE GARDENS ARE VISITED BY ABOUT 200 PEOPLE A YEAR.THERE ARE FOUR CONSTANT GARDEN VOLUNTEERS, AND THOSE SERVICE GROUPS OF KIDS FROM THE LOCAL CAMPS COME OUT TO ASSIST OCCASIONALLY. THE PRIMARY EXPENSE IS PLANTS AND SUPPLIES.

THE 2022 VIDEO OF LISTENING POINT WAS MADE IN COLLABORATION WITH MIKE FITZGERALD OF WOLVENWOOD STUDIO IN ELY MN.THE VIDEO EXPLAINS SIGURD OLSONS WRITING CAREER AND THE IMPORTANCE OF THE SPACE TO THE CONSERVATION HISTORY OF MINNESOTA.THE VIDEO IS PROMOTED THROUGH OUR WEBSITE AND SOCIAL MEDIA AND HAS HAD 1,600 VIEWS.
