THE WISCONSIN FEDERATION OF MUSIC CLUBS EXISTS TO PROMOTE AMERICAN MUSIC & MUSICIANS, TO AID AND ENCOURAGE MUSIC EDUCATION AND APPRECIATION OF THE ARTS, TO DEVELOP AND MAINTAIN THE HIGHEST STANDARDS OF MUSICAL CREATIVITY AND PERFORMANCE. WFMC ACCOMPLISHES THEIR MISSION BY PROMOTING THE FEDERATION FESTIVAL IN WHICH APPROXIMATELY 3500 STUDENTS, SCHOOL AGE AND ADULTS, PERFORM IN JUDGED EVENTS. COMPETITION AWARDS ARE SUPPORTED BY WFMC FOR EDUCATION, MUSIC THERAPY, COLLEGIATE AWARDS, COMPOSITION AND HANDICAPPED AWARDS. THESE COMPETITIONS ARE HELD BOTH AT THE STATE AND THE NATIONAL LEVELS. WFMC SUPPORTS AND ENCOURAGES THE ARTS IN MEMBERS HOMES, SCHOOLS, COMMUNITIES AND CHURCHES. MEMBERS DECIDE HOW THEY WILL SPEND THEIR TIME AND RESOURCES ON MUSICAL PROJECTS, PROGRAMS AND EVENTS. MEMBERS ARE REACHED THROUGH LOCAL CLUB PROGRAMS IN WHICH CLUBS ARE FORMED AND FOLLOW THE NATIONAL FEDERATION POLICIES AND ACTIVITIES WHICH INCLUDE ELECTION OF OFFICERS, QUARTERLY MEETINGS, A BIENNIEL STATE CONVENTION, STATE AND CLUB NEWSLETTERS AND TWO NATIONALLY PUBLISHED MAGAZINES. EACH CLUB CHOOSES WHETHER TO SUPPORT CHURCH AND SCHOOL MUSICAL ACTIVITIES THROUGH MONETARY DONATIONS AS WELL AS SPONSORING MUSICAL EVENTS. MEMBERS ALSO CHOOSE TO ATTEND, PERFORM AND LEAD MUSICAL COMMUNITY EVENTS. CLUBS MAY OBSERVE NATIONAL MUSIC WEEK, AMERICAN MUSIC MONTH, AND PARTICIPATE IN SACRED MUSIC, CRUSADE FOR STRINGS, HYMN OF THE MONTH PROGRAMS AND THE PROMOTION OF OPERA, DANCE, FOLK MUSIC, CHAMBER MUSIC AND POETRY AS SET FORTH BY THE NATIONAL FEDERATION OF MUSIC CLUBS.
