LITERACY SERVICES - THROUGH OUR REGIONAL LITERACY CONSULTANTS AND THE WISCONSIN LITERACY OFFICE IN MADISON, WISCONSIN LITERACY PROMOTES ADULT AND FAMILY LITERACY BY PROVIDING SUPPORT AND RESOURCES TO APPROXIMATELY70 MEMBER AGENCIES ACROSS WISCONSIN. THROUGH OUR MEMBER AGENCIES AND ASSISTANCE FROM WISCONSIN LITERACY, NEARLY 14,000 ADULT STUDENTS IN 88% OF THE STATE'S COUNTIES RECEIVED LITERACY SERVICES.
HEALTH LITERACY WISCONSIN HEALTH LITERACY (WHL), A DIVISION OF WISCONSIN LITERACY FOCUSES ON PROVIDING HEALTH EDUCATION TO INDIVIDUALS WITH LOW LITERACY SKILLS AND TRAINING DOCTORS, PHARMACISTS AND CLINICS ON HOW TO PROVIDE HEALTH INFORMATION IN A HEALTH LITERACY WAY. THE ENABLES INDIVIDUALS WITHIN THE COMMUNITY TO BETTER UNDERSTAND AND ACT ON HEALTH INFORMATION. THE PRIMARY FOCUS IS ON COVID-19 INFORMATION. WHL WORKED WITH 14 COMMUNITY-BASED ORGANIZATIONS TO PROVIDE EASY TO UNDERSTAND COVID-19 INFORMATION FROM TRUSTED COMMUNITY LEADERS. WHL CONTINUED ITS PROJECT, ADOPTING A PATIENT-CENTERED PRESCRIPTION LABEL. PHASE IV OF THIS PROJECT FOCUSES ON HEALTH CARE SYSTEM ADOPTION OF PATIENT-CENTERED, EASY TO UNDERSTAND PRESCRIPTION LABELS. FINALLY, WHL PROVIDED WORKSHOPS ON DIABETES, MENTAL HEALTH AND COPING ISSUES.
