CENTER FOR FAMILIES, INC. IS A PARENT SUPPORT AND RESOURCE CENTER FOR PARENTS AND CHILDREN. SINCE THE MERGER WE NO LONGER CONSIDER OURSELVES TO BE COLLABORATIVE, WE ARE NOW ONE SINGLE AGENCY.

THE RESPITE CENTER PROVIDES 24/7 CHILD CARE AND CRISIS INTERVENTION SERVICES FOR PARENTS WITH CHILDREN AGED BIRTH THROUGH 14 YEARS FOR 470 FAMILIES. THE PROGRAM PROVIDES A NURTURING AND FUN PLACE FOR CHILDREN WHILE HELPING THEIR PARENTS COPE DURING DIFFICULT TIMES. THE OVERALL GOAL IS TO PROVIDE SAFETY FOR CHILDREN AT THE RESPITE CENTER AND INCREASE RESILIENCY IN PARENTS AND CHILDREN TO KEEP THEM SAFE WHEN THEY GO HOME.
THE PARENT-CHILD HOME PROGRAM PROVIDED CASE MANAGEMENT AND CHILD DEVELOPMENT TRAINING IN THE PARENT HOME ON A WEEKLY BASIS TO 90 FAMILIES. CASE MANAGEMENT FOCUSES ON HELPING PARENTS CONNECT TO APPROPRIATE HEALTH SERVICES INCLUDING PRE-NATAL, AODA AND MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES EMPLOYMENT RESOURCES WHILE CHILD DEVELOPMENT FOCUSES ON DEVELOPMENTAL SCREENINGS, EDUCATION AND REFERRAL.
WELCOME BABY VISITS FIRST TIME PARENTS IN THEIR HOMES WEEKLY TO HELP THEM LEARN HOW TO TAKE CARE FOR THEIR NEWBORN, TO TEACH THEM ABOUT CHILD DEVELOPMENT AND HOW TO HELP THEIR BABY THRIVE THROUGH THE FIRST THREE YEARS OF ITS LIFE. SERVICES WERE PROVIDED TO 150 FAMILIES.
