FLOOD SCIENCE CENTER- PROVIDES RESEARCH TO APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT TO EDUCATION/OUTREACH AND PROMOTES MORE EFFECTIVE FLOODPLAIN MANAGEMENT AT FEDERAL, STATE AND LOCAL LEVELS. PROJECTS COMPLETED BY ASFPM'S FLOOD SCIENCE CENTER RANGE FROM RESEARCH TO APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT TO EDUCATION/OUTREACH IN ORDER TO FURTHER THE MISSION OF ASFPM. PROJECT DELIVERABLES, WHENEVER POSSIBLE, ARE WIDELY DISSEMINATED TO PROMOTE MORE EFFECTIVE FLOODPLAIN MANAGEMENT AT THE FEDERAL, STATE, AND LOCAL LEVELS.
CONFERENCES- PROVIDES PEER EXCHANGE AND TRAINING FOR ATTENDEES ON TOPICS RELATED TO FLOODING AND FLOODPLAIN MANAGEMENT. THE ASFPM ANNUAL TECHNICAL CONFERENCE IS THE COUNTRY'S PREMIER CONFERENCE FOR ALL THINGS RELATED TO FLOODING AND FLOODPLAIN MANAGEMENT. THE CONFERENCE PROVIDES PEER EXCHANGE AND TRAINING FOR ATTENDEES. ATTENDANCE FOR THE PAST SEVERAL YEARS HAS EXCEEDED 1,000 PROFESSIONALS FROM ACROSS THE COUNTRY AS WELL AS INTERNATIONALLY.
