THE MISSION OF THE AMERICAN SOCIETY FOR LASER MEDICINE AND SURGERY IS TO PROMOTE EXCELLENCE IN PATIENT CARE BY ADVANCING BIOMEDICAL APPLICATIONS OF LASERS AND ENERGY-BASED TECHNOLOGIES WORLDWIDE.
Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
ASLMS HAD HOPED TO BE IN PERSON IN 2021. HOWEVER, COVID-19 CONTINUED TO IMPACT OUR ABILITY TO DO SO AND THE BOARD MADE THE DECISION TO HOLD THE 2021 EVENT VIRTUALLY. THE PROGRAM INCLUDED 34 EDUCATION ACTIVITIES AND 9 UNIQUE INDUSTRY PRESENTATIONS. CONTENT WAS OFFERED ON DEMAND WITH REGISTRATION PURCHASE FOR 60 DAYS AFTER THE EVENT.
AS PART OF THEIR ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP TO THE SOCIETY, MEMBERS RECEIVE A JOURNAL SUBSCRIPTION, ELECTRONIC NEWSLETTERS, AND HAVE ACCESS TO AN ONLINE DIRECTORY. THE VARIOUS PUBLICATIONS ARE DESIGNED TO KEEP MEMBERS CURRENT ON LASER TECHNOLOGY. ELEVEN ISSUES OF THE OFFICIAL JOURNAL OF THE ASLMS WERE PUBLISHED IN 2021. NEW FOR 2021 MEMBERS HAD FREE ACCESS TO A MONTHLY JOURNAL CLUB WEBINAR.
