THE MISSION OF THE AMERICAN SOCIETY FOR LASER MEDICINE AND SURGERY IS TO PROMOTE EXCELLENCE IN PATIENT CARE BY ADVANCING BIOMEDICAL APPLICATION OF LASERS AND OTHER RELATED TECHNOLOGIES WORLDWIDE.

THE SOCIETY HELD THE 2022 CONFERENCE IN PERSON. IN ADDITION TO AN IN PERSON OPTION FOR OUR ANNUAL CONFERENCE, WE ALSO OFFERED A LIVE STREAMING OPTION FOR THOSE THAT COULD NOT/DID NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE ATTENDING IN PERSON. THIS INCLUDED 43 LEARNING ACTIVITIES, 9 INDUSTRY SPONSORED SESSIONS AND 10 HANDS-ON DEVICE DEMONSTRATION SESSIONS.
OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES RELATE TO COURSES AND SEMINARS AS PART OF REGIONAL OR ONLINE EDUCATION PROGRAMS - DUE TO COVID-19, A REGIONAL COURSE WAS NOT HELD IN 2022. NO REGISTRATIONS WERE TAKEN.
AS PART OF THEIR ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP TO THE SOCIETY, MEMBERS RECEIVE A JOURNAL SUBSCRIPTION, ELECTRONIC NEWSLETTERS, AND HAVE ACCESS TO AN ONLINE DIRECTORY. THE VARIOUS PUBLICATIONS ARE DESIGNED TO KEEP MEMBERS CURRENT ON LASER TECHNOLOGY. ELEVEN ISSUES OF THE OFFICIAL JOURNAL OF THE ASLMS WERE PUBLISHED IN 2022.
