QUALITY INITIATIVE -WHA MAINTAINS A WEBSITE THAT PUBLICLY REPORTS MEASURES OF HOSPITAL QUALITY AND SAFETY. THE SITE REPORTS OVER 60 MEASURES FOR 128 HOSPITALS. RESULTS ARE UPDATED QUARTERLY AND NEW MEASURES ARE ADDED ON AN ONGOING BASIS. WHA ALSO COORDINATES STATE-WIDE QUALITY IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS WITH MEMBER HOSPITALS. STAFF DELIVER IMPROVEMENT TRAINING CONTENT, PROVIDE ONE-ON-ONE COACHING AND COLLECT DATA FROM HOSPITALS TO TRACK PROGRESS.
PUBLIC POLICY -WHA ADVOCATES AT THE STATE AND NATIONAL LEVEL ON POLICY ISSUES THAT AFFECT HOSPITALS ABILITIES TO CONTINUE TO MEET THEIR MISSION OF PROVIDING AFFORDABLE, ACCESSIBLE AND HIGH QUALITY CARE IN THE COMMUNITIES THEY SERVE.
COMMUNICATIONS AND EDUCATION -WHA PRODUCES A WEEKLY NEWSLETTER THAT IS DISTRIBUTED TO MORE THAN 2,000 PEOPLE, INCLUDING MEMBER HOSPITALS, STATE LEGISLATORS, MEMBERS OF THE CONGRESSIONAL DELEGATION, AND HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONALS. IN ADDITION, WHA STAFF COMMUNICATE DIRECTLY WITH MEMBER HOSPITALS THROUGH DIRECT VISITS AND ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATIONS. WHA WORKS DIRECTLY WITH THE MEDIA AND PROVIDES ACCESS TO EXPERTS IN THE AREA OF HEALTH CARE POLICY, REIMBURSEMENT, QUALITY AND SAFETY, WORKFORCE AND DATA.WHA HOLDS MORE THAN 50 EDUCATION EVENTS EACH YEAR FOCUSED ON ISSUES THAT ARE OF VITAL IMPORTANCE TO HOSPITALS.
