PROMOTES EDUCATION AND PUBLIC AWARENESS OF THE OPTOMETRY PROFESSION SO AS TO IMPROVE THE DELIVERY OF VISION CARE THROUGH COMMUNICATION AND ADVOCACY EFFORTS. THE ORGANIZATION HOLDS 4 EDUCATION EVENTS PER YEAR WITH TOTAL ATTENDANCE OF APPROXIMATELY 580 DOCTORS OF OPTOMETRY. THE ORGANIZATION OFFERS CONTINUING EDUCATION FOR DOCTORS OF OPTOMETRY SO THEY CAN MEET THEIR RE-LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS AND ALSO STAY ABREAST OF THE MOST CURRENT TRENDS IN EYE CARE TO BETTER CARE FOR THEIR PATIENTS. THE ASSOCIATION ALSO DOES PUBLIC AWARENESS REGARDING THE IMPORTANCE OF EYE HEALTH THROUGH PRESS RELEASES TO TV/RADIO AND PRINT OUTLETS AND INFORMATIONAL VIDEOS ON EYE HEALTH TOPICS DISTRIBUTED THROUGH OUR SOCIAL MEDIA.
