THE WISCONSIN INSURANCE ALLIANCE (WIA) IS A STATE TRADE ASSOCIATION OF PROPERTY AND CASUALTY INSURANCE COMPANIES. THE WIA IS THE PRIMARY SPOKESPERSON FOR THE PROPERTY AND CASUALTY INSURANCE INDUSTRY IN WISCONSIN WITH THE LEGISLATURE, EXECUTIVE BRANCH, OFFICE OF COMMISSIONER OF INSURANCE (OCI), AND THE MEDIA. THE WIA WORKS IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE NATIONAL INSURANCE TRADES.

THE WIA HAS AN ACTIVE PUBLIC INFORMATION PROGRAM. NEWS RELEASES ARE REGULARLY DISTRIBUTED TO WISCONSIN MEDIA, AND THAT COMMITTEE COORDINATES OTHER OUTREACH DEALING WITH THE MEDIA AND PUBLIC INFORMATION.
THE LEGISLATIVE FUNCTIONS OF THE WIA INCLUDE FULL TIME REPRESENTATION BY A LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL IN MADISON, APPEARANCES AT HEARINGS, AND DRAFTING OF BILLS AND AMENDMENTS AS APPROPRIATE. MEMBERS RECEIVE WEEKLY LEGISLATIVE BULLETINS DURING THE LEGISLATIVE SESSION AS PART OF THE WIA'S ENDEAVOR TO KEEP MEMBERS ADVISED OF WHAT'S HAPPENING IN THE LEGISLATIVE PROCESS AND TO SOLICIT THEIR INPUT AND ASSISTANCE.
THE WIA'S AMICUS CURIAE COMMITTEE MONITORS ALL APPELLATE CASE LAW AND SEEKS TO BECOME INVOLVED WHERE THERE ARE MATTERS OF INTEREST TO THE PROPERTY AND CASUALTY INSURANCE INDUSTRY.
