ALP'S PRIMARY PURPOSE IS TO PROVIDE EDUCATIONAL TRAINING FOR COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP STAFF AND PROFESSIONALS. COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP PROGRAMS/ORGANIZATIONS AVERAGE THREE FULL TIME STAFF, INCLUDING THE MANAGER AND PROGRAMMER. LEADERSHIP ORGANIZATIONS/PROGRAMS AVERAGE 30 PARTICIPANTS EACH YEAR AND HAVE MULTIPLE PROGRAM OFFERINGS BENEFITTING AN AVERAGE OF 500-800 PARTICIPANTS ANNUALLY. THE MAJORITY OF WHICH EXPAND 9-10 MONTHS OF TRAINING AND EDUCATION. PARTICIPANTS LEARN LEADERSHIP SKILLS, TACKLE TOUGH ISSUES IN THEIR COMMUNITIES, AND BECOME BETTER PREPARED TO ENHANCE THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THEIR COMMUNITIES.
