OUR MISSION IS TO ENHANCE AND PROMOTE THE KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE OF GOVERNMENT MEETING PROFESSIONALS. OUR OBJECTIVES ARE TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF, AND PROMOTE THE COST-EFFECTIVENESS OF, GOVERNMENT MEETINGS.

ANNUAL CONFERENCE: THE SOCIETY HOSTS THE NATIONAL EDUCATION CONFERENCE AND EXPO (NEC), WHICH IS THE LARGEST GATHERING OF GOVERNMENT MEETING PROFESSIONALS EACH YEAR. THE NEC IS DESIGNED TO ADVANCE THE KNOWLEDGE OF ATTENDEES AS WELL AS PROVIDE NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES. THIS IN-PERSON ANNUAL CONFERENCE WAS CANCELLED IN 2020 DUE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC. INSTEAD, SGMP HELD A VIRTUAL CONFERENCE FOR ITS MEMBERS WITH NO REGISTRATION FEES CHARGED; IT WAS COMPLIMENTARY FOR MEMBERS.
MEMBERSHIP SERVICES: TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY AND PROMOTE THE COST-EFFECTIVENESS OF GOVERNMENT MEETINGS AND CONFERENCES, AS WELL AS PROVIDE MEMBERS EDUCATION AND RESOURCES TO IMPROVE THEIR GOVERNMENT MEETINGS AND ADVANCE THEIR CAREERS.
