NUTRITIONAL SCHOOL FEEDING AND AGRICULTURAL DEVELOPMENT: JAM'S NUTRITION INTERVENTION AIMS TO IMPROVE AND MONITOR CHILD NUTRITION, IMPROVE AND MONITOR MATERNAL NUTRITION, PROMOTE CHILD PROTECTION, EARLY CHILDHOOD CARE AND PRIMARY SCHOOL EDUCATION,AND PROMOTE HEALTHCARE THROUGH NUTRITION. MALNUTRITION, CAUSED BY A LACK OF FOOD AND POOR NUTRITIONAL CONTENT IN THE DIET, CONTINUES TO BE THE BIGGEST KILLER OF CHILDREN IN AFRICA WHICH IS WHY JAM FOCUSES ON FOOD AND NUTRITION ASSISTANCE. MOST ARE CHILDREN WHO JAM REACHES THROUGH SCHOOL FEEDING PROGRAMS AND CLINICS, OR OUTPOSTS WHERE JAM DOES MALNUTRITION SCREENING AND CARE FOR ACUTELY MALNOURISHED CHILDREN. JAM ALSO IMPLEMENTS COMMUNITY AGRICULTURE INITIATIVES FOR DIVERSIFICATION OF DIETS AND TO INCREASE SELF-SUSTAINABILITY.
WATER, SANITATION & HYGIENE: AS A BASIC HUMAN RIGHT THAT BRINGS LIFE, FAR TOO MANY COMMUNITIES IN AFRICA ARE AT RISK OF DEATH OR DISEASE WITHOUT ACCESS TO SAFE DRINKING WATER.
TRAINING: JAM CONTINUED TO SUPPORT A VOCATIONAL TRAINING INSTITUTION; INCLUDING COVID19 PROTOCOLS IN THE COMMUNITY; BENEFITTING A TOTAL OF 3000 BENEFICIARIES IN RWANDA. JAM ALSO IMPLEMENTED A SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING AND MATHEMATICS (STEM) PROMOTION PROGRAMME IN RURAL PRIMARY EDUCATION SCHOOLS IN ANGOLA BENEFITTING 2,757 CHILDREN (1,430 BOYS AND 1,327 GIRLS) IN UPPER PRIMARY GRADES AND 75 TEACHERS.
