TO PROVIDE SOCIAL SERVICES TO INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES THROUGHOUT LIVINGSTON COUNTY

MENTAL HEALTH AND SUBSTANCE ABUSE COUNSELING SERVICES PROVIDED TO ADULTS, COUPLES, AND FAMILIES. PROVIDED 6,056 UNITS OF SERVICE TO 782 CLIENTS. 2,763 UNITS OF SERVICES HOURS WERE PROVIDED THROUGH ENGAGEMENT GROUP SESSIONS. 88% OF MENTAL HEALTH CLIENTS SURVEYED REPORTED HEALTHIER COPING SKILLS. 100% OF SUBSTANCE ABUSE CLIENTS SURVEYED REPORT IMPROVEMENT AND 93% REPORT DECREASED SUBSTANCE USE. MORE THAN HALF OF CLIENTS IN THESE PROGRAMS LIVE BELOW 150% OF NATIONAL POVERTY LEVEL.


VOLUNTEER SERVICES: RECRUIT, TRAIN, AND MATCH VOLUNTEERS WITH OLDER ADULTS IN NEED OF VARIOUS HUMAN SERVICES. 1,241 SENIORS SERVED THROUGH COMMUNITY LIASON/RESOURCE ADVOCACY: 736 RIDES PROVIDED FOR HOMEBOUND SENIORS; 329 HOURS OF FRIENDLY HOME VISITS AND TELEPHONE CALLS. FOOD AND GIFT BOXES PROVIDED TO SENIORS. ELDER ABUSE, NEGLECT, AND EXPLOITATION PREVENTION, PARISH MINISTRY SERVICES AND DAY CARE PROGRAM FOR SENIOR CITIZENS WITH DEMENTIA. 114 ADULTS WITH DISABILITIES SERVED THROUGH VARIOUS RECREATIONAL, SOCIAL, SPIRITUAL AND EDUCATIONAL EVENTS. 100% SATISFACTION REPORTED FROM PERSONS RECEIVING SERVICES IN THESE PROGRAMS.


FOSTER CARE AND ADOPTION - 26 CHILDREN SERVED IN FOSTER CARE. 2 CHILDREN ADOPTED; 3 RETURNED TO BIRTH PARENTS. CURRENTLY HAVE 12 LICENSED FOSTER FAMILIES AND CONTINUES TO RECRUIT AND LICENSE MORE.


SUBSTANCE ABUSE PREVENTION PROGRAMS - THE RED BARREL CAMPAIGN TO DISPOSE OF PRESCRIPTION PAINKILLERS HAS GROWN TO A LOCATION AT EVERY MICHIGAN STATE POLICE POST. 30 FAMILIES IN LIVINGSTON COUNTY HAVE SIGNED UP TO BE A SAFE HOME. 125 COMMUNITY MEMBERS TRAINED ACOUNT YOUTH DRUG TRENDS. RESOURCES FOR YOUTH AND FAMILIES PROIVDED TO ALL LIVINGSTON COUNTY SCHOOL COUNSELORS.
