COMMUNICATIONS: THE ASSOCIATION PRODUCES A QUARTERLY PUBLICATION, AN ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP DIRECTORY AND A BI-MONTHLY E-NEWSLETTER THAT IS DISTRIBUTED TO THE FULL MEMBERSHIP IN MICHIGAN FOR THE PURPOSE OF EDUCATING THEM ON POLICIES AND REGULATONS AFFECTING, THE MERIT SHOP, PROVIDING NEW INDUSTRY INFORMATION, ADDRESSING INDUSTRY BEST PRACTICES AND SHARING INFORMATION FROM ONE CHAPTER TO ANOTHER TO CREATE GREATER UNITY IN THE STATE.
LEGISLATIVE CONFERENCE: THE ASSOCIATION BRINGS TOGETHER THE STATEWIDE MEMBERSHIP, ONCE A YEAR, IN LANSING TO MEET WITH OUR STATE LEGISLATATORS AND DISCUSS WITH THEM THE ISSUES THAT FACE OUR INDUSTRY HERE IN MICHIGAN. IT IS A VALUABLE DAY FOR OUR MEMBERS AS THEY HAVE THE EAR OF THEIR LEGISLATOR AND FOR THE LEGISLATORS AS THEY GET EDUCATED FROM THEIR CONSTITUENTS ON THEIR ISSUES AND WHAT THEY WOULD LIKE TO SEE DONE AT THE STATE LEVEL.
GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS: OUR PRIMARY FOCUS AT THE STATE OFFICE IS TO REPRESENT OUR MEMBERS WITH OUR STATE LEADERSHIP. WE WORK TO BUILD GOOD RAPPORT WITH OUR ELECTED OFFICIALS BY PROVIDING THEM WITH EDUCATION AND INFORMATION TO ASSIST THEM IN DOING THEIR JOBS. WE PARTNER WITH OTHER STATE ASSOCIATIONS WHOSE MEMBERS HAVE SIMILAR NEEDS TO ACHIEVE SYNERGY.
