NICE CONTINUED OUR CHRISTIAN SCHOOL SPONSORSHIP WITH PARTIAL SUPPORT OF 6 SCHOOLS WITH A TOTAL ENROLLMENT OF OVER 1600 STUDENTS. THIS FUNDING HELPS WITH TEACHER PAY AND UTILITIES. OUR SCHOOLS ARE LOCATED IN VERY HIGH POVERTY AREAS. WE ALSO CONTINUE TO FUND A 3 DAY YEARLY EDUCATIONAL RETREAT FOR TEACHERS.
MEAL PACKING CEASED IN 2023 DUE TO INCREASING DELAYS IN GETTING MEALS THROUGH CUSTOMS AND INCREASING CUSTOMS FEES. WHEN CONTAINERS OF MEALS WERE PREVIOUSLY SHIPPED WE WERE ABLE TO ADD DONATED SCHOOL SUPPLIES DESKS CHAIRS AND OTHER SCHOOL EQUIPMENT AS WELL AS LAYETTES HYGIENE KITS AND CLOTHING. IN 2023 WE SHIPPED ONE 20 FOOT AND ONE 40 FOOT CONTAINER WITH A COMBINED WEIGHT OF 50,941#. OUR REMAINING FOOD WAS GIVEN TO SEVERAL OTHER MINISTRIES SO IT COULD BE USED BEFORE IT EXPIRED.
