FOR OVER 60 YEARS, HERITAGE BEHAVIORAL HEALTH CENTER HAS PROVIDED MENTAL HEALTH AND SUBSTANCE USE TREATMENT SERVICES TO CHILDREN, ADOLESCENTS, AND ADULTS, IN MACON COUNTY. IN 2015, HERITAGE EXPANDED TREATMENT SERVICES TO DEWITT COUNTY. HERITAGE PROVIDES A WIDE RANGE OF SERVICES INCLUDING ASSESSMENT, INDIVIDUAL AND GROUP THERAPY, CASE MANAGEMENT, AND COMMUNITY SUPPORT. HERITAGE ALSO OFFERS RESIDENTIAL SERVICES INCLUDING GROUP HOMES AND SUPPORTIVE HOUSING FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH A DIAGNOSIS OF A SEVERE AND PERSISTENT MENTAL ILLNESS. MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID IS AN EIGHT HOUR COURSE THAT GIVES PEOPLE THE SKILLS TO HELP SOMEONE WHO IS DEVELOPING A MENTAL HEALTH PROBLEM OR EXPERIENCING A MENTAL HEALTH CRISIS. THE EVIDENCE BEHIND THE PROGRAM DEMONSTRATES THAT IT DOES BUILD MENTAL HEALTH LITERACY, HELPING THE PUBLIC IDENTIFY, UNDERSTAND, AND RESPOND TO SIGNS OF MENTAL ILLNESS. IN THE PAST YEAR, HERITAGE HAS TRAINED MANY INDIVIDUALS IN MACON AND DEWITT COUNTY AT VARIOUS SETTINGS INCLUDING DECATUR PUBLIC LIBRARY, RICHLAND COMMUNITY COLLEGE, MILLIKIN UNIVERSITY, VARIOUS COMMUNITY AGENCIES, AND ANY COMMUNITY MEMBERS. HERITAGE HAS CERTIFIED TRAINERS IN ADULT MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID AND YOUTH MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID. IN FY20, WE CONTINUED THE INTENSIVE SUPPORT SERVICES TEAM TO PROVIDE CASE MANAGEMENT, COUNSELING, AND ADVOCACY, FOR INDIVIDUALS EXPERIENCING HOUSING INSTABILITY AND HOMELESSNESS. THE PROGRAM HAS ESTABLISHED STRONG PARTNERSHIPS WITH INDIVIDUALS IN THE PROGRAM AND COMMUNITY AGENCIES TO ASSIST INDIVIDUALS IN LIVING INDEPENDENTLY IN THE COMMUNITY. THE PROGRAM OFFERS A WIDE ARRAY OF DIRECT INTERVENTIONS AND REFERRAL AND LINKAGE TO WRAPAROUND SUPPORTS INCLUDING MENTAL HEALTH, SUBSTANCE USE, EDUCATION, EMPLOYMENT, DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, HOUSING, HEALTH/DENTAL, TRANSPORTATION, FINANCIAL, AND LIFE SKILLS. SUBSTANCE USE TREATMENT SERVICES CONTINUED ITS PLACE OF PROMINENCE IN THE CONTINUUM OF CARE AT HERITAGE. HERITAGE CONTINUES TO EXPAND SERVICES TO EFFECTIVELY ADDRESS THE TREATMENT NEEDS OF INDIVIDUALS WITH SUBSTANCE USE DISORDERS. HERITAGE OFFERS A WIDE RANGE OF TREATMENT SERVICES INCLUDING OUTPATIENT, INTENSIVE OUTPATIENT, MEDICATION ASSISTED TREATMENT, DETOXIFICATION, AND RESIDENTIAL TREATMENT. IN ADDITION, HERITAGE COLLABORATES WITH THE MACON COUNTY CIRCUIT COURT DRUG COURT AS A LIAISON, TREATMENT TEAM MEMBER, AND A TREATMENT PROVIDER FOR INDIVIDUALS PARTICIPATING IN THE SPECIALTY COURT. HERITAGE UTILIZES EVIDENCE-BASED PRACTICES IN TREATING SUBSTANCE USE DISORDERS INCLUDING MATRIX AND MORAL RECONATION THERAPY (MRT), AS WELL AS HOLISTIC PRACTICES SUCH AS YOGA, MEDITATION, AND ART THERAPY. MEDICATION ASSISTED TREATMENT OPTIONS ARE AVAILABLE UTILIZING METHADONE AND VIVITROL. HERITAGE PROVIDES A CONTINUUM OF CARE TO PROVIDE TREATMENT FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH A DIAGNOSIS OF A MENTAL ILLNESS. FOLLOWING A BIOPSYCHOSOCIAL ASSESSMENT, INDIVIDUALS ARE RECOMMENDED FOR SERVICES TO ASSIST IN THEIR RECOVERY. SERVICES ARE OFFERED IN VARIOUS SETTINGS INCLUDING OFFICE-BASED, HOMES, COMMUNITY SETTINGS, SCHOOLS, AND WHEREVER A CLIENT MAY NEED SERVICES. HERITAGE PROVIDES A WIDE RANGE OF SERVICES INCLUDING THERAPY, CASE MANAGEMENT, COMMUNITY SUPPORT, CRISIS INTERVENTION, CRISIS RESIDENTIAL, RESIDENTIAL GROUP HOMES, AND SUPPORTIVE HOUSING.
