STEWARDSHIP AND MAINTENANCE OF SANCTUARY LANDS IN VERSHIRE, VERMONT WHERE THE FORESTS AND MARSHES WILL REMAIN WILD AND UNDISTURBED BY HUMANS FOR ALL TIME. CONTINUED LAND CONSERVATION EFFORTS TO ACQUIRE REAL ESTATE FOR THE EXPANSION OF SANCTUARY LANDS AND PLAN FOR A REGIONAL WILDLIFE CORRIDOR CONSERVATION PROJECT. MONITORING THE SANCTUARY PERIMETER AND THE RETURN OF PEREGINE FALCONS AT EAGLE LEDGE.THIS YEAR'S SPECIFIC PROJECTS INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:A PAIR OF PEREGRINE FALCONS WERE MONITORED AT EAGLE LEDGE & NESTED SUCCESSFULLY. TWO FLEDGLINGS WERE DOCUMENTED FLYING, THE FIRST SINCE THE 1940'S! THE 90 ACRE VAN DYKE SANCTUARY LAND HAD ITS 10 YEAR PLAN & MAP COMPLETED FOR THE VERMONT UVA PROGRAM. BOUNDARY LINE WORK WAS COMPLETED ON THE EAGLE LEDGE PARCEL, INCLUDING FLAGGING, PAINTING, & POSTING SIGNS FOR THE FULL PROPERTY LINES. A BEAVER DECEIVER DEVICE WAS INSTALLED IN THE BEAVER POND, PROTECTING THE BEAVERS WHILE KEEPING THE WATER LEVEL FROM INTERFERING WITH THE ADJACENT TOWN ROAD.
