CONTINUED LAND CONSERVATION EFFORTS TO ACQUIRE REAL ESTATE FOR THE EXPANSION OF SANCTUARY LANDS AND PLAN FOR A REGIONAL WILDLIFE CORRIDOR CONSERVATION PROJECT. MONITORING THE SANCTUARY PERIMETER AND THE RETURN OF PEREGINE FALCONS AT EAGLE LEDGE.THIS YEAR'S SPECIFIC PROJECTS INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:A PAIR OF PEREGRINE FALCONS WERE MONITORED AT EAGLE LEDGE & NESTED SUCCESSFULLY. TWO FLEDGLINGS WERE DOCUMENTED FLYING, THE FIRST SINCE THE 1940'S! THE 90 ACRE VAN DYKE SANCTUARY LAND HAD ITS 10 YEAR PLAN & MAP COMPLETED FOR THE VERMONT UVA PROGRAM. BOUNDARY LINE WORK WAS COMPLETED ON THE EAGLE LEDGE PARCEL, INCLUDING FLAGGING, PAINTING, & POSTING SIGNS FOR THE FULL PROPERTY LINES. A BEAVER DECEIVER DEVICE WAS INSTALLED IN THE BEAVER POND, PROTECTING THE BEAVERS WHILE KEEPING THE WATER LEVEL FROM INTERFERING WITH THE ADJACENT TOWN ROAD.
