MORE SPECIFICALLY, GRANTS ARE AWARDED FOR EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS THAT HELP IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS: ADVOCATING FOR OPEN GOVERNMENT, PROMOTING INTEGRITY, ENCOURAGING EXCELLENCE, FOSTERING DIVERSITY, INSPIRING NEW GENERATIONS OF TALENTED JOURNALISTS AND PROTECTING FREEDOM OF SPEECH AND PRESS.
