TUTORING CHICAGO DELIVERS THE POWER OF EDUCATION THROUGH ONE-TO-ONE TUTORING. THE ORGANIZATION DOES THIS BY PROVIDING FREE TUTORING ON A WEEKLY BASIS THROUGHOUT THE SCHOOL YEAR BY MATCHING OVER 1000 WELL-TRAINED ADULT VOLUNTEER TUTORS WITH APPROXIMATELY 1000 CHICAGO-AREA CHILDREN IN GRADES ONE THROUGH EIGHT WHO ARE STRUGGLING WITH FINANCIAL BARRIERS. THE PROGRAMS FOCUS ON IMPROVING LITERACY LEVELS, MATH SKILLS AND CONCEPTS, SOCIAL EMOTIONAL LEARNING AND TECHNOLOGY COMPETENCIES. THE ORGANIZATION TYPICALLY OPERATES ITS TUTORING PROGRAM IN FOUR CHICAGO COMMUNITIES; NEAR NORTH, LOGAN SQUARE, NEAR WEST, AND GREATER HYDE PARK. AS OF FALL 2022, THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDES IN-PERSON TUTORING AT TWO FACILITIES AND DIGITAL TUTORING FOR THOSE WHO PREFER TUTORING REMOTELY.
