INITIAL CERTIFICATION OF ORTHOPAEDICS: EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS, PEER REVIEW, A WRITTEN EXAMINATION AND AN ORAL EXAMINATION ARE REQUIRED TO BECOME BOARD CERTIFIED. THERE WERE 777 NEW ORTHOPAEDIC SURGEONS CERTIFIED IN THE FISCAL YEAR ENDED IN 2023. CANDIDATES WHO SATISFY THE CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS BECOME A DIPLOMATE OF THE ORGANIZATION FOR 10 YEARS. THE ORGANIZATION HAS A TOTAL OF 29,987 DIPLOMATES DURING THE MOST RECENTLY COMPLETED FISCAL YEAR.
