STRENGTHENING THE COMMUNITY THROUGH PHILANTHROPY BY ADDRESSING COMMUNITY PRIORITIES AND INTERESTS, MAKING RESPONSIVE AND INFORMED GRANTS, BEING PRUDENT AND ACCOUNTABLE MANAGERS OF FUNDS, AND STIMULATING AND FACILITATING INDIVIDUAL PHILANTHROPY.

OPRFCF PROVIDES A CENTRAL RESOURCE FOR DONORS, PROFESSIONAL FINANCIAL ADVISORS, STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS AND NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS SERVING OAK PARK AND RIVER FOREST. FOR DONORS, WE PROVIDE VALUE AND EXPERTISE IN HELPING THEM EXPLORE AND IMPLEMENT GIVING OPTIONS. FOR NON-PROFITS SERVING OUR RESIDENTS, WE PROVIDE INFORMATIVE AND TOPICAL PRESENTATIONS THROUGH OUR IMPACT EXCELLENCE PROGRAM, MANAGE ENDOWMENT FUNDS FOR SEVERAL AND PROVIDE OPPORTUNITIES TO APPLY FOR AND RECEIVE GRANTS. WE ALSO MANAGE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMS FOR SEVERAL OF OUR FUNDHOLDERS. IN MARCH OF 2020 THE FOUNDATION ESTABLISHED THE RAPID RESPONSE & RECOVERY FUND TO RESPOND TO CRITICAL COMMUNITY NEEDS BROUGHT ABOUT BY THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC. GRANTS FROM THIS FUND CONTINUED INTO FY21.
SUCCESS OF ALL YOUTH (SAY) IS A COMMUNITY COLLECTIVE IMPACT EFFORT ADDRESSING THE SOCIAL & EMOTIONAL, ACADEMIC, AND HEALTH & SAFETY NEEDS OF YOUTH FROM CRADLE TO CAREER. THE FULL TIME DIRECTOR OF THIS PROGRAM LEFT THE ORGANIZATION AT THE END OF FEBRUARY 2020 AND THE PROGRAM CONTINUES TO BE ASSESSED TO DETERMINE FUTURE DIRECTION.
LEADERSHIP LAB IS A COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP PROGRAM PROVIDING PARTICIPANTS THE OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN ABOUT OUR COMMUNITY, THINK ABOUT THEIR EFFECT IN OUR COMMUNITY AND DEVELOP A PERSONAL PLAN FOR MAKING A DIFFERENCE. COMMUNITY PANELS, SPEAKERS AND SMALL GROUP FIELD WORK ARE USED THROUGHOUT THE EIGHT MONTH PROGRAM. ONE PART-TIME INDEPENDANT CONTRACTOR MANAGES THE PROGRAM.
IMPACT EXCELLENCE WAS ESTABLISHED BY THE FOUNDATION IN 2013 TO HELP SUSTAIN NONPROFITS AND THEIR IMPACT ON OUR COMMUNITY. THE GOAL OF IMPACT EXCELLENCE IS TO STRENGTHEN OUR LOCAL NONPROFITS AND THEIR IMPACT ON THE OVERALL QUALITY OF LIFE IN OUR COMMUNITY. IN FY21, IMPACT EXCELLENCE INCURRED FEW EXPENSES AS IT WAS UNABLE TO HOST SESSION FOR LOCAL NONPROFITS DUE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC. FUTURE PHILANTHOPIST PROGRAM PROVIDES YOUNG PEOPLE WITH OPPORTUNITIES TO PARTICIPATE IN A UNIQUELY-ADAPTED PHILANTHROPIC EXPERIENCE. AREA HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS APPLY FOR THIS TWO YEAR PROGRAM WHICH TURNS JUNIORS INTO GRANT MAKERS AND SENIORS INTO FUNDRAISERS. PROGRAM EXPENSES COVER THE COST OF MEETINGS AND OTHER RELATED COSTS.
