SPW ADVOCATES FOR HEALTH AND BEHAVIORAL POLICIES THAT CONNECT PEOPLE TO HEALTH INSURANCE COVERAGE, PUBLIC BENEFITS AND SOCIAL DETERMINANTS OF HEALTH. WE FOCUS ON HIGH IMPACT POLICY-ADVOCACY, CAPACITY BUILDING THROUGH TRAINING, TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE AND FACILITATING AND CONVENING PUBLIC, PRIVATE AND SOCIAL SECTOR HEALTH AND SERVICES PROVIDERS, AS WELL AS LOCAL, STATE AND FEDERAL GOVERNMENTS. SPW IS FISCAL SPONSOR FOR THE WOMEN'S JUSTICE INSTITUTE, A POLICY ADVOCACY INITIATIVE FOCUSED ON BUILDING TRANSFORMATIVE, GENDER-RESPONSIVE INTERVENTIONS TO CUT THE PRISON POPULATION OF WOMEN BY 50% IN ILLINOIS.
