TALENT COMPETITION 2021: ON SATURDAY JUNE 12 2021 - TOTALLY POSITIVE PRODUCTIONS TPP CONDUCTED A TALENT COMPETITION WITH THE THEME: GOD IS LOVE AT THE GARY COMER YOUTH CENTER. A TOTAL OF SIX CONTESTANTS COMPETED FOR CASH PRIZES. THIS WAS TPP'S FIRST TALENT COMPETITION FOR 2021. THE TALENT RANGED FROM AGES 14 YEARS OLD AND UP TO SENIOR ADULTS. CASH AWARDS AND PRIZES WERE GIVEN TO PARTICIPANTS WITH THE FIRST PLACE WINNER WINNING $300.00. 2ND PLACE WINNER WINNING $200.00 AND TWO THIRD PLACE WINNERS WINNING $100.00 EACH. YOUTH RANGED FROM 6 YEARS OLD TO 17. EACH PARTICIPANT RECEIVED A BUS LIMOUSINE RIDE TO BROOKFIELD ZOO ADMISSION TICKET AND WAS TREATED TO A BUFFET STYLE DINNER AT PAISANS PIZZERIA AFTERWARDS. THIS WAS TPP'S FIRST EDUCATIONAL CULTURAL ENRICHMENT TRIP FOR 2021. THIS EVENT WAS MADE POSSIBLE BY A GRANT FROM NORDSTROM. CULTURAL ENRICHMENT FIELD TRIP: ON SUNDAY NOVEMBER 14 2021 - TOTALLY POSITIVE PRODUCTIONS PARTNERS WITH CHICAGO ADVOCATE THERAPY ORGANIZATION IN TAKING A GROUP OF 25 YOUTH AND ADULTS TO BROOKFIELD ZOO FOR A DAY OF FUN AND EXCITEMENT. YOUTH RANGED FROM 5 YEARS OLD TO 21. EACH PARTICIPANT WAS GIVEN A CARE BAG EACH PARTICIPANT RECEIVED A BUS LIMOUSINE RIDE PROVIDED BY M & M LIMOUSINE COMPANY TO BROOKFIELD ZOO ADMISSION TICKET AND AFTERWARDS THE GROUP WAS TREATED TO A BUFFET STYLE DINNER AT PAISANS PIZZERIA IN BROOKFIELD ILLINOIS AFTERWARDS. THIS WAS TPP'S SECOND EDUCATIONAL CULTURAL ENRICHMENT TRIP FOR 2021. THIS EVENT WAS MADE POSSIBLE BY A GRANT FROM NORDSTROM YOUTH SERVICE AMERICA YSA.
YOUTH AND EMPLOYMENT AND TRAINING PROGRAM: JUNE - NOVEMBER 2021. TOTALLY EMPLOYED TWO YOUTHS AND ONE ADULT FROM JUNE 2021 TO NOVEMBER 2021 WITH EMPLOYMENT AND TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES. BOTH YOUTHS AND THE ADULT WORKED ADMINISTRATIVELY FOR TPP AND LEARNED VALUABLE SOFTWARE EQUIPMENT AND OFFICE ETIQUETTE SKILLS. THE YOUTHS HELP IN ADMINISTRATIVE AND PROGRAM EFFORTS AND IN PREPARING COMPANY MATERIALS FOR PUBLIC DISTRIBUTION. THE EFFORTS LED TO OVER 5,000 CRIME PREVENTION BROCHURES BEING COPIED AND FOLDED AND DISTRIBUTED VIA MAIL AND AT VARIOUS PRESENTATIONS. YOUTH EARNED A STIPEND OF $13.50 PER HOUR WITH 1 YOUTH BEING PROMOTED TO $15.00 PER HOUR. EACH LEARNED ADMINISTRATIVE SKILLS AND HELPED TRAIN YOUTH IN SERVICE LEARNING PROJECTS.
