TO ASSIST DISADVANTAGED STUDENTS IN ACHIEVING A COLLEGE EDUCATION. PROGRAM SERVICES INCLUDE COUNSELING FOR STUDENTS AND FAMILIES IN ADDITION TO PAYMENT OF TUITION & BOOKS ETC. THE FIRST PROJECT WAS STARTED IN 1991 WITH A 6TH GRADE CLASS IN NORTH CHICAGO. OF THE 37 DREAMERS ADOPTED, 98% EARNED THEIR HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR GED, AND OVER 80% ENTERED COLLEGE OR THE WORKFORCE. THE SECOND PROJECT BEGAN IN 2001 WITH THE ADOPTION OF AN ENTIRE KINDERGARTEN CLASS IN NORTH CHICAGO. MANY OF THESE STUDENTS HAVE BEGUN THEIR COLLEGE EDUCATION AND ARE RECEIVING SCHOLARSHIP ASSISTANCE FOR TUITION, ROOM AND BOARD, AND BOOKS.
