HEARTLAND HOUSING, INC. WAS CREATED AS A NON-PROFIT 501(C)(3) AFFORDABLE HOUSING DEVELOPMENT IN 1989. CURRENTLY, HEARTLAND OWNS AND MANAGES 1,279 AFFORDABLE HOUSING UNITS IN THE CITY OF CHICAGO, MADISON, WISCONSIN, AND PARTS OF MILWAUKEE. THE PROJECTS CATER TO VARIOUS TYPES OF PARTICIPANTS SUCH AS LOW INCOME, HOMELESS, AND SENIORS. IN ADDITION, SOME OF THE PROJECTS PROVIDE SUPPORTIVE SERVICES TO OUR RESIDENTS TO HELP THEM OVERCOME BARRIERS TO HOUSING STABILITY AND ACHIEVE GREATER ECONOMIC INDEPENDENCE AS WELL AS ASSIST THEM IN FINDING WORK.
