CHILDREN & FAMILIES PROGRAM: THIS PROGRAM PROVIDED LEGAL SERVICES TO CHILDREN WITH COMPLEX HEALTH CONDITIONS IN MEDICAL-LEGAL PARTNERSHIPS WITH ACCESS COMMUNITY HEALTH, COMER CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL, LURIE CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL, AND MT. SINAI HOSPITAL.


SPECIAL PROJECTS


HIV PROGRAM: THIS PROGRAM, CONTINUING WORK STARTED 32 YEARS AGO AT THE HEIGHT OF THE AIDS CRISIS, PROVIDED LEGAL SERVICES TO PEOPLE LIVING WITH OR IMPACTED BY HIV AND OTHER CHRONIC HEALTH CONDITIONS. THE PROJECT HAS MEDICAL-LEGAL PARTNERSHIPS WITH CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTER, THE CORE CENTER OF COOK COUNTY HEALTH AND HOSPITALS SYSTEM, HOWARD BROWN HEALTH, THE MICHAEL REESE HIV PROJECT AT UIC, AND TPAN.


HOMELESS PROGRAM: THIS PROGRAM FOCUSED ITS LEGAL ADVOCACY ON PEOPLE WHO HAVE SERIOUS MENTAL OR OTHER HEALTH ISSUES AND ARE HOMELESS. WORKING WITH SOCIAL SERVICES AGENCIES ACROSS CHICAGO INCLUDING THE AFC CENTER FOR HOUSING & HEALTH, ALL CHICAGO SOAR PROGRAM, FRANCISCAN OUTREACH, MATTHEW HOUSE, SAFER FOUNDATION, AND URBAN BREAKTHROUGH MINISTRIES, PROGRAM STAFF HAVE WORKED WITH CLIENTS TO HELP THEM GAIN ACCESS TO DISABILITY INCOME, HEALTH CARE, SUBSTANCE ABUSE TREATMENT, AND OTHER BENEFITS THAT EMPOWER CLIENTS TO STABILIZE THEIR LIVES AND SUSTAIN HOUSING.
