ADVOCACY AND ORGANIZING: ICAH CREATES AND ADVOCATES FOR POLICIES THAT INCREASE EQUITY ACCESS TO SEXUAL HEALTHCARE SERVICES, INCREASES EQUITY AND ACCESS TO SEXUAL EDUCATION, AND ENSURE SUPPORT FOR PREGNANT AND PARENTING YOUTH TO COMPLETE THEIR EDUCATION. ICAH EQUIPS YOUTH WITH SKILLS TO BECOME ADVOCATES AND CHANGE AGENTS IN ORDER TO TRANSFORM THE SOCIAL AND POLITICAL REALITIES OF THEIR COMMUNITIES THROUGH LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT AND CIVIC ENGAGEMENT.
TRAINING AND OUTREACH: THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDES INSTRUCTION AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO EDUCATORS AND YOUTH SERVICE PROVIDERS THROUGHOUT ILLINOIS, IN ORDER TO EXPAND AND STRENGTHEN A STATEWIDE SYSTEM OF CURRICULUM AND TRAINING RESOURCES TO MEET INCREASED DEMAND FOR ADOLESCENT SEXUAL HEALTH EDUCATION IN SCHOOLS, CLINICS, AND COMMUNITIES.DUE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, WE STOPPED ALL IN-PERSON PROGRAMMING AND WORK. WHILE SOME OF IT WAS ABLE TO BE DONE VIRTUALLY, PROGRAMMING LOOKS SIGNFICANTLY DIFFERENT NOW.
