TO SAVE LIVES & STRENGTHEN FAMILIES BY PROVIDING HOPE & HELP TO WOMEN & MEN FACING UNPLANNED PREGNANCY VIA LIMITED MEDICAL SERVICES, ONE-ON-ONE COACHING & EDUCATION
Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
THE CLIENT SERVICES PROGRAM OFFERS A HOLISTIC APPROACH TO STRENGTHENING FAMILIES, AT NO COST TO OUR CLIENTS. WE OFFER ONE-ON-ONE COACHING, GROUP CLASSES, AND OUR CHOICES PROGRAM. IN 2021, ABOUT 50 VOLUNTEERS HELPED PCC SERVE 1,410 CLIENTS WITH 2,281 COACHING SESSIONS AND 612 CLASS SESSIONS. THROUGH THEIR PARTICIPATION, CLIENTS EARNED MORE THAN 41,000 DIAPERS, WIPES, AND BABY ITEMS THROUGH OUR EARN WHILE YOU LEARN PROGRAM. THROUGH THE CHOICES PROGRAM, MORE THAN 700 AREA STUDENTS WERE TAUGHT ABOUT HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS AND SEXUAL INTEGRITY. SEE SCHEDULE O FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.
THE MEDICAL SERVICES PROGRAM PROVIDES PREGNANCY TESTING AND LIMITED ULTRASOUNDS WITH THE OVERSIGHT OF A MEDICAL DIRECTOR, WHO IS A LOCAL LICENSED AND BOARD-CERTIFIED OB/GYN. OUR STAFF AND VOLUNTEER REGISTERED NURSES WORK ALONGSIDE THE COACHES TO PROVIDE THE MEDICAL INFORMATION CLIENTS NEED DURING THIS TIME. THE GOAL OF THIS PROGRAM IS TO PROVIDE ACCURATE MEDICAL INFORMATION TO ASSIST OUR CLIENTS WITH MAKING INFORMED DECISIONS REGARDING THEIR PREGNANCIES. IN 2021, THE MEDICAL SERVICES PROGRAM SERVED CLIENTS WITH 685 PREGNANCY TESTS AND 519 ULTRASOUNDS. SEE SCHEDULE O FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.
THROUGH THE COMMUNITY EDUCATION PROGRAM, WE PROVIDE RELEVANT INFORMATION CONCERNING PCC'S MISSION, APPROACH, SERVICES AND IMPACT WITHIN OUR SERVICE AREA. INCREASING AWARENESS IS ACCOMPLISHED THROUGH COLLABORATING WITH OTHER LOCAL NONPROFIT AGENCIES, MEDICAL PROVIDERS, BUSINESSES AND EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS AT COMMUNITY EVENTS AND FORUMS. A PRESENCE ON EACH OF THE FOUR MAJOR COLLEGE CAMPUSES ALLOWS US TO INCREASE AWARENESS WITHIN OUR PRIMARY DEMOGRAPHIC, WHICH ARE YOUNG ADULTS AGES 19-24.
