THE FOUNDATIONS PURPOSE IS TO PROMOTE AND FINANCIALLY SUPPORT MORAINE VALLEY COMMUNITY COLLEGE PROGRAMS AND PROVIDE SCHOLARSHIP AND FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO STUDENTS WHILE EXERCISING PRUDENT INVESTMENT AND MANAGEMENT OF DONOR FUNDS

FINE AND PERFORMING ARTS - THE FOUNDATION PROVIDES ON-GOING FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR THE MORAINE VALLEY COMMUNITY COLLEGE FINE AND PERFORMING ARTS CENTER. THIS SUPPORT PLAYS A CRUCIAL ROLE IN PROGRAM UNDERWRITING AND ON-GOING MAINTENANCE AT THE CENTER. THE ARTS CENTER IS A CENTRAL RESOURCE OF MORAINE VALLEY COMMUNITY COLLEGE WHICH HOSTS PERFORMANCES BY REGIONAL AND NATIONAL PROFESSIONAL COMPANIES IN DANCE, MUSIC, AND THEATER FOR CULTURAL AND ARTISTIC ENRICHMENT IN THE SOUTHWESTERN SUBURBS.


SCHOLARSHIPS - THE FOUNDATION PROVIDES FUNDING AND ADMINISTERS VARIOUS ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMS FOR STUDENTS OF MORAINE VALLEY COMMUNITY COLLEGE. SCHOLARSHIPS ARE MERIT BASED AND NEED BASED, AND ARE OFFERED COLLEGE-WIDE OR DESIGNATED TO PROVIDE SUPPORT THROUGH A SPECIFIC PROGRAM OR DEPARTMENT.


STUDENT EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE - THROUGH CONTRIBUTIONS OF VARIOUS INDIVIDUAL DONORS THE FOUNDATION HAS IMPLEMENTED AN EMERGENCY FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM FOR MORAINE VALLEY COMMUNITY COLLEGE STUDENTS WHO MIGHT OTHERWISE BE FORCED TO STOP OR DROP OUT OF SCHOOL. DONATIONS OF VARIOUS INDIVIDUALS ARE USED TO PAY THE EXPENSES OF MORAINE VALLEY COMMUNITY COLLEGE STUDENTS THAT ARE CONFRONTED WITH EXTRAORDINARY PERSONAL LIVING EXPENSES THAT IF NOT PAID ON AN IMMEDIATE BASIS WOULD LIKELY RESULT IN THAT STUDENT NOT BEING ABLE TO CONTINUE THEIR EDUCATION AT THE COLLEGE. FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE IS GRANTED TO STUDENTS ON A CASE BY CASE BASIS BY THE RECOMENDATION OF THE COLLEGE AFTER A REVIEW OF EACH STUDENTS CIRCUMSTANCES SURROUNDING THE REQUEST FOR ASSISTANCE.
