CHARITABLE ORGANIZATION TO HELP ASSYRIAN REFUGEES AND ELDERS IN THE COMMUNITY.

COMMUNITY CARE PROGRAM (CCP): A PROGRAM PRIMARILY FUNDED BY THE ILLINOIS DEPARTMENT ON AGING (IDOA) WHICH ASSISTS THE ELDERLY, DISABLED, AND SICK PEOPLE AT HOME. UNDER THIS PROGRAM THE ELDERLY ARE ABLE TO STAY AT HOME WITH FAMILY AND RECEIVE A HELPING HAND TO PROVIDE THE NEEDED SERVICES. THIS WAY THEY WILL NOT BE SEPARATED FROM FAMILY AND LOVED ONES, AND BE HAPPY WITHOUT BEING A FINANCIAL BURDEN. THROUGH THIS PROGRAM, THE FOUNDATION SERVICES OVER 1200 CLIENTS FROM DIVERSE ETHNIC GROUPS. THESE ELDERLY CLIENTS ARE BEING HELPED BY TRAINED CAREGIVERS EMPLOYED BY THE FOUNDATION.
CULTURAL EDUCATION: THE FOUNDATION HAS ESTABLISHED AN ASHURBANIPAL LIBRARY WHICH COLLECTS BOOKS AND PUBLICATIONS IN THE ASSYRIAN LANGUAGE OR ABOUT ASSYRIAN HISTORY, LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE IN LANGUAGES OTHER THAN ASSYRIAN. THIS LIBRARY IS ALSO AN ARCHIVE CENTER TO COLLECT AND PRESERVE THE DOCUMENTS AND PICTURES ABOUT ASSYRIAN PEOPLE WORLDWIDE. THE ASHURBANIPAL LIBRARY ALSO FUNDS PRODUCTION OF DOCUMENTARY FILMS ABOUT ASSYRIAN HISTORY AND LIFESTYLE IN THE MIDDLE EASTERN COUNTRIES AND ELSEWHERE, AND HELPED TO PRODUCE A SET OF CDS/MP3'S AND A BOOK OF NOTES OF THE RELIGIOUS LITURGY USED BY THE ASSYRIAN CHURCH OF THE EAST. THE FOUNDATION OFFERS MUSIC AND ART LESSONS AS PART OF ITS CULTURAL EDUCATION PROGRAM. A RADIO PROGRAM PRODUCED BY THE FOUNDATION REACHES NOT ONLY THE COMMUNITY IN CHICAGO, BUT IS BROADCAST VIA THE INTERNET.
SCHOLARSHIPS: THE FOUNDATION OFFERS FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO ASSYRIAN STUDENTS TO PURSUE THEIR HIGHEST EDUCATION.
REFUGEE AND INTERNATIONAL RELIEF: THE FOUNDATION REACHES OUT TO ASSYRIANS IN THE POOREST COUNTRIES IN THE WORLD BY PROVIDING LOCAL YOUTH PROGRAMS WITH GIFTS OF CLOTHES, FOOD, SCHOOL MATERIALS, FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE AND OTHER NEEDED ITEMS. THE FOUNDATION ALSO HELPS ASSYRIAN REFUGEES WHO ARE STAYING IN REFUGEE CAMPS AND RESIDENTIAL AREAS WORLDWIDE BY PROVIDING CASH SUBSIDIES.
