THE MISSION OF MUNTU DANCE THEATRE IS TO PRESERVE AND PERPETUATE THE AFRICAN AESTHETIC AND ITS INFLUENCE ON WORLD CULTURES, THROUGH THE EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL PRESENTATION OF DANCE, MUSIC, AND FOLKLORE. OUR GOAL IS TO SHARE THESE IMPORTANT WORKS

CONTRACTED PERFORMANCE AS WITH EACH YEAR INCEPTION, MUNTU CONTINUES TO RECEIVE BOOKING REQUESTS FOR CONTRACTED PERFORMANCES FROM EVERY STATE IN THE U.S. OUR REPUTATION FOR PROVIDING PROFESSIONAL AND AUTHENTIC AFRICAN PERFORMANCES CONTINUES TO WIN MUNTU INVITATIONS TO PERFORM GLOBALLY AS WELL.ACE PROGRAM CURRENTLY SERVES 15 SCHOOLS THROUGHOUT THE CITY. OUR IN-CLASS INTERACTIVE MUSIC AND DANCE RESIDENCIES CONVENE TWICE WEEKLY WITH THE STUDENTS, AND TYPICALLY RUN 1 WEEK TO 25 WEEKS. AT THE END OF EACH RESIDENCY, STUDENTS PERFORM FOR THE SCHOOL AND COMMUNITY. THE POSITIVE RESULTS OF OUR WORK IN THE COMMUNITY SCHOOLS CONTINUE TO CONFIRM THE VALUE OF ARTS AS PART OF THE EDUCATIONAL PROCESS, AND THE SOCIAL AND COGNITIVE DEVELOPMENT OF YOUTH.
