THE CITY OF COEUR D'ALENE EMPLOYEE BENEFITS TRUST WAS ESTABLISHED TO PROVIDE HEALTHCARE COVERAGE FOR ITS EMPLOYEES THROUGH A SELF-FUNDED HEALTHCARE BENEFIT PLAN. THE PLAN WAS APPROVED BY THE STATE OF IDAHO DEPARTMENT OF INSURANCE IN DECEMBER OF 2019 THE PLAN IS FUNDED THROUGH CONTRIBUTIONS FROM BOTH THE CITY AND THE EMPLOYEES. THE PLAN IS FUNDED THROUGH AN IRREVOCABLE TRUST FUND IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE TERMS SET FORTH IN CHAPTER 40, TITLE 41, OF THE IDAHO CODE. THE PLAN AND THE IRREVOCABLE TRUST FUND ARE MANAGED AND ADMINISTERED BY TRUSTEES THROUGH AN ENTITY THAT IS SEPARATE AND INDEPENDENT FROM THE CITY OF COEUR D'ALENE. ALL FUNDS CONTRIBUTED TO THE IRREVOCABLE TRUST FUND ARE FIDUCIARY FUNDS HELD IN THE NAME OF THE PLAN FOR THE BENEFIT OF ELIGIBLE EMPLOYEES AND THEIR DEPENDENTS.
