FAMILY YMCA OF THE DESERT - PALM SPRINGS, CA: ACCOMPLISHED NUTRITION EDUCATION FOR LOW-INCOME COMMUNITIES IN THE COACHELLA VALLEY WHICH INVOLVED 720 YOUNG STUDENTS. COMMUNICATED NUTRITION EDUCATION BY MEANS OF A SPRAYED MURAL IN COACHELLA, CA. ALSO PROVIDED EDUCATIONAL LECTURES ON THE IMPORTANCE OF YOUTH EATING HEALTHY FOODS FOR INTER-CITY BOROUGHS OF NEW YORK CITY, EMPHASIZING THE NEED TO REPLACE SUGAR-LADIN FOODS WITH NUTRITIONAL FOODS AND THE POSITIVE HEALTH EFFECTS OF TAKING SUCH ACTIONS. ALSO HOSTED A MUSIC RAP/GRAFFITI ART EVENT CREATING SOCIAL MEDIA FOR THE ORGANIZATION'S MESSAGE OF EATING HEALTHY AND EMPHASIZING THE NEED FOR YOUTH TO ELIMINATE AN UNHEALTHY DIET IN THEIR LIFESTYLES. THE CONCEPT OF THIS EVENT WAS TO PASS ALONG DUNK THE JUNK'S MISSION IN A MORE YOUTHFUL STYLE CHILDEN ARE MORE COMFORTABLE WITH, I.E. RAP MUSIC AND GRAFFITI ART. PRESENTATION DONE IN 10 DIFFERENT SCHOOLS NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS IN VARIOUS STATES, REACHING APPROXIMATELY 3,600 LOW-INCOME CHILDREN OF MOSTLY HISPANIC ORIGIN AND MANY POVERTY STRICEN YOUTH.
