WE OPERATE PRODUCER-ONLY FARMERS MARKETS THAT PROVIDE VITAL ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITIES TO LOCAL FARMERS AND FOOD PRODUCERS, PIONEERING FOOD DISTRIBUTION PROGRAMS THAT INCREASE FOOD ACCESS FOR LOW-INCOME COMMUNITIES, AND INNOVATIVE FOOD EDUCATION THAT BUILDS HEALTHIER COMMUNITIES.

FOODPRINTS--THIS SIGNATURE FOOD EDUCATION PROGRAM AIMS TO MAKE POSITIVE CHANGES IN WHAT CHILDREN AND THEIR FAMILIES EAT THROUGH ENGAGING, ACADEMICALLY-ALIGNED HANDS-ON CULINARY AND GARDEN EDUCATION BASED ON THE FOODPRINTS CURRICULUM. THE PROGRAM CURRENTLY HOSTS PROGRAMMING IN FIFTEEN (15) DC PUBLIC SCHOOLS AS WELL AS SEVERAL EARLY CHILDCARE CENTERS, THE MAJORITY IN UNDERSERVED AREAS OF THE CITY, REACHING 5,700 ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS AND MORE THAN THREE HUNDRED (300) CHILDCARE FAMILIES TO HELP THEM GAIN EXPOSURE AND APPRECIATION FOR NUTRITIOUS FOOD AND THE LOCAL FOOD SYSTEM.

OPERATING PRODUCER-ONLY FARMERS MARKETS PROVIDE VITAL ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITIES TO LOCAL FARMERS AND FOOD PRODUCERS AND PROVIDE INNOVATIVE OUTREACH PROGRAMS THAT EDUCATE THE PUBLIC ABOUT FOOD AND RELATED ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES. FRESHFARM MARKETS, INC. IS THE LARGEST NETWORK OF PRODUCER-ONLY FARMERS MARKETS IN THE DC AREA.
