THE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION OF MUNCIE AND DELAWARE COUNTY, INC. ENCOURAGES PHILANTHROPY, ASSISTS DONORS IN BUILDING AN ENDURING SOURCE OF CHARITABLE ASSETS, AND EXERCISES LEADERSHIP IN DIRECTING RESOURCES TO ENHANCE THE QUALITY OF LIFE FOR THE RESIDENTS OF MUNCIE AND DELAWARE COUNTY.

EDUCATION AND SCHOLARSHIPS - THE FOUNDATION PROVIDES SUPPORT FOR ORGANIZATIONS, PROJECTS AND PROGRAMS WHICH PROMOTE EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES WITHIN THE COMMUNITY, INCLUDING SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMS. THE FOUNDATION AWARDED 191 GRANTS TO SUPPORT PRESCHOOL PROGRAMMING, SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMS, MENTORING PROGRAMS FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS TO SUCCESSFULLY GRADUATE AND MATRICULATE TO POST-SECONDARY EDUCATION, AND EQUIPMENT AND SUPPLIES FOR PRESCHOOL AND K-12 CLASSROOMS IN THE COMMUNITY.
HUMAN SERVICES - FOUNDATION GRANTS PROVIDE SUPPORT FOR ORGANIZATIONS, PROJECTS, AND PROGRAMS THAT PROVIDE HEALTH RELATED SERVICES AND/OR BASIC HUMAN NEEDS TO INDIVIDUALS. THE FOUNDATION AWARDED 129 GRANTS TO SUPPORT HOME BUILDING AND IMPROVEMENT PROGRAMS, DOMESTIC VIOLENCE PROGRAMMING, YOUTH CENTER PROGRAMS, SCHOOL FOOD PANTRY PROGRAMS, AND EMERGENCY SHELTERS. IN ADDITION, THE FOUNDATION AWARDED STRATEGIC GRANTS FOR COMMUNITY EDUCATION PROGRAMS AND A FUNDERS FORUM COLLABORATIVE GRANT RELATED TO SUBSTANCE ABUSE AWARENESS AND TREATMENT.
COMMUNITY BETTERMENT - FOUNDATION GRANTS SUPPORT ORGANIZATIONS, PROJECTS, AND PROGRAMS RELATED TO THE IMPROVEMENT OF PUBLIC PROPERTIES, PUBLIC SAFETY, COMMUNITY WELLNESS, AND OTHER GENERAL COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES. THE FOUNDATION PROVIDED 171 GRANTS SUPPORTING LOCAL TRAIL SYSTEMS, LAND PRESERVATION FOR PUBLIC USE, SPAY AND NEUTER ASSISTANCE FOR RESCUED ANIMALS, COMMUNITY ACTION PLANS, AND COMMUNITY CENTER PROGRAMMING.
OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES - THE FOUNDATION ALSO GRANTS IN THE AREAS OF ARTS AND CULTURE AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT. ARTS AND CULTURE GRANTS INCLUDE SUPPORT OF ORGANIZATIONS, PROGRAM, AND PROJECTS WHICH OFFER WIDE-SPREAD OPPORTUNITIES FOR PARTICIPATION AND APPRECIATION OF ARTS AND CULTURE.
